The Yeru Chetso Chenmo (the Great Teachings and Practice of Yeru) originated from the Yeru Wensa Kha Monastery, the main monastery and study center of Bön, before it was destroyed by a flood and landslide. It was started in Menri Monastery in India by His Holiness the 33rd Menri Trizin Lungtok Tenpai Nyima Rinpoche in the year 1997 with great vision.

The 23rd Yeru Chetso Chenmo: One month intensive teaching and practice of Tsedma (Valid Cognition) according to Yeru tradition will start on 29th October 2019 at Menri Monastery.

During this period of one month, Geshes and the students are divided into two groups and practice the texts on valid congnition written by Lodoe Gyatsen (1198-1263), one of the 18 Great teachers of Yeru Wensa Kha Monastery. Monks wake up early in the morning and go to bed late in the night. They put extra time for the study and practice on this particular text.

His Eminence Menri Ponlob Rinpoche, Shedrub Khen Rinpoche and Shedrub Lobpon Rinpoche and other Geshes will teach on the subject and also witness the debate classes. A weekly debate between the two groups will be held where His Holiness Menri Trizin Lungtok Dawa Dhargyal Rinpoche will oversee the progess and the hard work of the monks. The results of the weekly debates are announced in the last week of the month.

The intensive teaching and practice is concluded with the final examination of the oral and debate in the end of the month in the presence of His Holiness Menri Trizin Rinpoche and His Eminence Menri Ponlob Rinpoche. During the final examination, monks randomly pick up rolled papers on which questions are written and answer the questions in front of all the monks.
