The 15 –year education program of the monks concludes with the Geshe examinations and the final award of Geshe Degree. The first batch of the monks got their Geshe Degree in 1986. Upto the year of 2018, more than 120 monks have received this prestigious degree. The course of study includes philosophy, logic, Tibetan literature, poetry and grammar, astrology, Tibetan Medicine, rituals and meditation. The monks also intensively study and practice the Bon traditions of Sutra, Tantra and Dzogchen. The training in Dzogchen includes the highest meditation practices, such as the dark retreat and the visionary practices. Most of the Geshes become professors and teachers serving the educational and religious needs of both the monastic and lay communities. Presently there are about 120 monks studying in Bon Dialectic School.
