On 4th April 2020 i.e. the 8th day of the lockdown/curfew imposed in India due to Covid-19 pandemic, the Office of His Holiness the 34th Menri Trizin Rinpoche distributed food items to all the workers of the Monastery who work on the basis of daily wages and the poor families from the neighbor villages whose main bread earners are daily wagers, taxi drivers and whose income depends on daily business. The food items included 25KG rice, 10 kg wheat, 5 kg potato and soya nutri, 1L cooking oil, 500gm salt, etc.

His Holiness sends his prayers for the quick rebirth of all those lives lost, quick recovery of all those who are infected and quick disappearance of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic.

On 6th April 2020, His Holiness the 34th Menri Trizin Rinpoche and Menri Monastery (under Yungdrung Bon Monastic Centre Society) donated a sum of Rupees Five Lakh (Two Lakh Rupees towards PM Cares Fund and three Lakh Rupees towards Himachal Pradesh Covid-19 Response Fund) as a gesture of appreciation and to show our solidarity to the Central Government, the state Government of Himachal Pradesh, medical institutions, the police departments and each and every one who are working day and night tirelessly by putting their own lives into danger for the safety of general public.

 

In addition to the distribution of food items to 88 families in neighboring villages on 4th April 2020, His Holiness has decided to extend the distribution to 100 more poor families from other villages as following:

Ration kits worth Rs 718.05/kit distributed to 30 of families at Giripool and 65 families at Narag in Sirmour district.

Ration kits worth of Rs 668.04 distributed to 31 families from Dilman and molog etc. in Sirmour district.

100 Ration kits worth Rs 774 per kit given to Solan DC office for distribution among the needy people.
