This announcement is addressed to all people inside and outside Tibet who follow Yungdrung Bon, the White Hat Tradition, or Nyam Med Shes Rab Gyal Tsan, the incomparable master who preserved and spread the teachings of Sang Gye Tonpa Shenrab.

As we all know, H.H. the 34th Menri Trizin Lungtok Dawa Dhargye Pal Zang Po, the spiritual head of Yungdrung Bon, was chosen by the Bon protectors through the unique method of Bon to be our refuge and guide. We had the great fortune to successfully celebrate his enthronement ceremony and other traditional activities at Menri monastery. Until now, H.H. the 34th  Menri Trizin Rinpoche has been following in the footsteps of H.H. 33rd Menri Trizin, to preserve the Bon teachings and serve all sentient beings.

We have an important announcement.  There is a unique tradition at Menri monastery, called Menri Drupchen (“Great Retreat of Menri”), which is that each Menri Trizin holds a medicine retreat (medicine prayer of nectar with coiling rays of light). This time the Menri Drupchen retreat will be held by the monks beginning on the auspicious day of 29 April, 2020, the 7th day of the 3rd month of the Iron Mouse year according to Tibetan calendar, for 16 days at Menri monastery. The retreat is based on the text entitled “The Supreme Text of Chi Pung.” According to the Chi Pung text, by performing this ceremony one can achieve enlightenment in one lifetime. At the same time, the ritual of wrathful deities (Khro Bo dBang Chen Tshogs mChod) will be held at Rad-Na sMan-gLing (the nunnery), and the recitation of medicine mantra (Khro Bo dBang Chen Gyis Man ‘Dzab) will be held at the Shen Gyi Sang-sNgags sGom-sGrub gLing (the Yogi temple).

We believe this is a once-in a-lifetime opportunity. We welcome everyone to attend this event. We hope you will be able to join us at Menri Monastery at this time.  If you plan to attend, please contact the Yungdrung Bon Monastic Center Society in advance on the phone numbers or email address given below.
