Background
Ever since the outbreak of Coronavirus Covid-19, the Ministry of Home Affair, India has imposed the lockdown restricting people from stepping out of their homes. From 4 May 2020, the lockdown was eased with several relaxations in all zones per the guidelines of Ministry of Home Affairs. So from tomorrow onwards, Menri Monastery can perform large scale rituals.
Standing at the delicate juncture of this global health crisis, millions of people are feeling nervous and panic. To date, this pandemic disease has caused 7 million Coronavirus cases and claimed 402,273 lives. During the past lockdown period since 16 March 2020 (83 days), although there have been many restrictions imposed to safeguard health and safety, the monks, nuns and children of Menri Monastery have never stopped praying for world peace as well as for the health and happiness of all the members of Yungdrung Bon community around the world. Due to many restrictions imposed, Menri Monastery wasn’t able to perform big gathering rituals and could only scale down the many rituals and ceremonies performed in the past 83 days.
